In Conversation with, is a new series where we meet inspiring minds to explore their sources of creativity – and, naturally, their favourite coffee moment.

How did you get into interior styling?

I got the chance to start assisting a very talented interior stylist named Sasa Antic, and that’s how it all began. It was like stepping into a world where I just felt completely at home, and it felt like a natural place for me to express and channel my creativity.

What inspires you?

A designer who has inspired me a lot is Dries Van Noten. I think that’s had quite an influence on the way I combine colors and shapes, both in my personal life and in my work. And through Dries Van Noten, I also discovered Antwerp, which is one of my absolute favorite cities — I go there every chance I get.

Something that’s really inspiring me right now is different color combinations that I get really excited about. At the moment, they’re the same color combinations I have in my home: this green, a rather strong green color, more towards olive. But also pistachio together with a dark terracotta.

A piece in your home that holds a special meaning to you?

This table, I would say, is our absolute favorite piece of furniture in our home. We searched for a really long time for a dining table that would fit this room. I wished for a table, and my husband Jocke designed this one. He came up with this beautiful shape, with these sort of traditional folk-style legs that I’m very fond of. And then I chose the color. I had to fight for this color a little at home, but when I finally got the okay from everyone, I think it turned out beautifully. I love this table so much.

Your favourite coffee moment?

My favorite moment is when Saturday comes and I get to sleep in a little longer than usual. Then I go and get my coffee and drink it in bed. That is my absolute favorite moment. And I don’t compromise on that.
